This is the story of Edgar Percy Loveland, born in December 1891. Edgar enlisted in the Queen's Westminster Rifles 16th Battalion County of London Regiment in February 1912. This book is not only Edgar's story in his own words but also some of his friends and comrades before, during and after the Great War. Edgar was a prolific writer of letters and postcards and this book is a window into the everyday life of the Regiment as the war progressed.
It has been compiled and edited by Steve Hammond, a member of the school's Estates team. His incredible knowledge of the regiment, as well as his unique and comprehensive collection alongside the letters, postcards and Log, tells the amazing story of ‘Quarter Bloke’ through the words of the family, friends and men who fought alongside Edgar in the Great War.
