Science features as the comparison in this update. The three photographs date from 1904 to the present day. Revd. Arthur Cole, a Cambridge graduate, was the Senior Science Master 1889-1911 and the first Housemaster of Sibdon, a boys’ boarding house, located in Ravens Lane.

The Illustrated News, features an article on Berkhamsted School and writes “ that the first laboratory at Berkhamsted was opened in 1874, the School being a pioneer in science teaching”.
