The Illustrated London News dated June 28th, 1958, has a four page article, the third in the series, entitled The Education of British Youth – Berkhamsted School. Four sketches by Dennis Flanders show The Quad (double page) the Cloisters, Old Hall from the South side and a view of Deans’ Hall between the Chapel and Library. Mention is made that the School was a pioneer in Science teaching, when the first laboratory was opened in 1874.
